Candidate

Ed Scott For Rialto City Council

Ed Scott has served Rialto residents for more than 16 years, building a record of leadership, accountability, and community service. First elected in 1996, he has helped guide the city’s growth through economic development, infrastructure improvements, and investments in public safety.

A longtime Rialto resident and mechanical engineering graduate, Ed has helped advance projects including a new fire station, street improvements, and efforts to attract businesses and jobs. He supports increasing the number of police officers, building a new police station, and addressing homelessness through practical, regional solutions.

Keeping Rialto affordable is central to Ed’s work. He supported suspending the residential utility tax beginning in December 2025, returning more than $5 million to the community, and supports eliminating it in 2027. He has also worked to hold trash, water, and sewer rates steady to help residents manage household expenses.

Ed has fought to limit warehouse development, supporting warehouse projects only when they generate point-of-sale tax revenue for Rialto. That revenue has grown from $10 million to $70 million, helping fund law enforcement and essential city services while reducing pressure to raise residents’ taxes.

Through his experience, accessibility, and commitment to the community, Ed has earned the trust and support of local leaders, public safety organizations, and residents. His priorities remain clear: keep costs down, strengthen public safety, improve neighborhoods, and make development help pay for the services Rialto families deserve.
